Back Yard Bulletin
My oldest has been talking about making a newspaper focusing on our nature study. She thought up the name Back Yard Bulletin, and she’s been thinking about how to put it all together using scissors, glue, and so forth.
Even though I’m a semi-Luddite, the idea of using MS Publisher seemed a lot easier, and even could conceivably teach skills that would be useful — using the computer, word processing, layout. So on Saturday evening we worked together for an hour and a half to produce our first issue. Some of the material I’ve already touched on in my own posts, but the presentation here is definitely new. I blurred actual names but left the grade levels. The girls have aspirations of creating a new issue each week, but even one a month would be fun.

That is fantastic-both in idea and in execution. Hats off to the writers/editors/etc.
