Winter Wonderland

Ahh, the pristine blanket of the first snowfall…

…looks like this by 8 A.M.:

That’s because we homeschool. When the girls see that snow out there for the first time this year, and they want to don snow garb and head out with the dog and their plastic horses before breakfast, there is time to do it.  And honestly, we reaped the benefits all day yesterday. Even before breakfast, there was a sense of satisfaction in the air, and it lingered. Kind of like a pristine snow blanket that didn’t get violated by dogs and snowball fights.

That’s not to say I’m not already looking forward to spring. I am! But meantime, even unwelcome cold weather brings blessings.
