Week in Words: Signs
As I drove through Owego the other day, 2 1/2 weeks or so after the Susquehanna crested at 15 feet above flood stage and washed most of the town in toxic river sludge, I passed several signs that indicate the general attitude of the town as it responds. I thought I’d post these ones I photographed for the Week in Words.
I liked this use of sign space to offer a few “words fitly spoken.”

I like that. What an encouragement to drive through town and see optimism and strength.
I recently took a picture of a stop sign on a country road that had the words “Don’t” and “Believing” before and after the “Stop”. Absolute silliness, that one. But worthy of a photograph.

What a great idea to use signs for Week in Words. We read them every day as we drive along. These words count too! They can encourage or discourage or do a variety of things. Words are so powerful, wherever they appear.
These words definitely encourage and show a healthy fighting spirit to keep going.

What an encouragement! I like the one that said praise God no fatalities – that really puts it all in perspective.
