Celebrating 9 years
Someone had a birthday this week. She requested a sunflower cake.
Every cake has a story. This is the cake for which the decorative glaze came out blotchy and runny and trickled all over the cake. I had to scrape it all off, re-ice, and try a different strategy. But neither the birthday girl nor the goldfinches minded.
Previous cakes include a ladybug (age 8)…
A bunny wonderland (age 7)…
Age 6 was a My Little Pony cake. No good pics of that one. Age 5 was a purse…
Age 4 was a horse, but alas, no pics. Edited to add: I found a picture :-)
Age 3 was Curious George…
Age 2 was Elmo…
And age 1 was a pink teddy bear cake.
We are blessed indeed to have the young lady for whom all these confectionery delights were created! Happy birthday Younger Daughter!

Happy birthday! It’s fun to see all the cakes. This year’s was especially beautiful!

Beautiful work, Janet. I love this year’s, too. I used to always decorate cakes for my children (well, when I only had two), but I gave that up a few years ago. I miss it, sort of, but I DON’T miss the stress. :-)

You’re much better with cakes than I ever was. Those are really nice. I especially like the sunflower one. Happy birthday to your daughter!

Lovely job on all of them. I was never much good at cake decorating. Happy birthday to your 9yr old!
Janet
Thank you!
