The dog who ate Easter
Yes. It’s true. You’ve heard of the Grinch who stole Christmas. This is the dog who ate Easter.
We came home from the church Easter musical on Saturday evening to find the girls’ Easter baskets, filled with the candy they’d brought home from the egg hunt that morning, tipped and pilfered. There were stray wrappers, Easter grass, and a fragment of lollipop stick on the floor. This normally faithful beast had eaten almost all of it.
She ought to look like this. (I would if I had done something like that.)

Oh no! I had heard chocolate was bad for dogs but evidently she’s ok. I’ve heard of dogs going after a lot of things, but never candy before.

Wow! That second photo is hilarious! (I was going to say the same thing as Barbara about chocolate. Glad she is OK.)

Oh my! I have to say, I burst out with a snort! We also have a story from a few years back of a doggie who stole an entire box of Gertrude Hawk smidgens and lived to tell the story with her own shamed, but pudgy tummy.

“shamed but pudgy” — too funny! At least she has good taste!
We’ve heard bad things about dogs and chocolate too, but our scalawag seems to be doing fine.
Live and learn. The Easter baskets will go up high next year!
